For some, summer goes by a different name, Festival Season. In our Live Soundz Summer Music Festivals Guide Part I, we geared up for Electric Daisy Carnival, Bonnaroo, and Camp Bisco. In our second installment of Live Soundz, we’ll take you further across the country, across diverse genres, faces, and interesting dance moves. A music festival can be a life-changing experience, so we encourage you to take care of yourself and do it the right way. Of course, there’s no wrong way to dance!
Warped Tour – June 15. Seattle, WA – August 4. Houston, TX.
It’s the traveling festival that came to do one thing and one thing only: rock! Pop punk, rock ‘n roll, screamo and anything loud are yours to enjoy at one of the many big city locations this summer. From poppy veterans Relient K to the heavy gallop of August Burns Red the 2013 Warped Tour setlists will scratch your fast music itch. This is the place to mosh, if you’re so inclined.
Honda Civic Tour 2013 – August 1 – St. Louis, MO. – October 6 – Hollywood, CA.
If you’re looking for something more specific, check out the Honda Civic Tour to see Maroon 5 headlining, and supporting artists Kelly Clarkson, Rozzi Crane, and Tony Lucca. Dulcimer tones and catchy hooks abound! Lollapalooza – August 2-4. Chicago, IL.
It’s been twenty years since the first Lollapalooza set the standard for contemporary music festivals. The styles may have changed, but the vibe is the same: an explosive outdoor festival with a bottomless lineup. You can see, feel and hear everything from Nine Inch Nails to 2 Chainz, so it’s hard to find a set you won’t like in this 127 group line-up.
Outside Lands – August 9-11. San Francisco, CA.
A relatively new festival, Outside Lands reinvents San Fran’s beautiful Golden Gate Park as a multi-faceted indie celebration. It rekindles the community vibe of 1969 in the California Bay Area, but with cooler synths. This year, you can also enjoy the 2013 Taste of the Bay Area, Wine Lands, Beer Lands, and many other features. Great music, food, and drinks, and who doesn’t want to see Paul McCartney?
